Aashiana – The Shelter Trust began their collaboration with Didi Jewelry project in 2012 based in Oakland, California. The founder, Laurel Gunnarson a fierce woman helped us create employment opportunities for our HIV positive infected and affected women.
After several trips volunteering with women and children in India, Laurel decided to combine her life-long love of creating jewelry with her passion of helping women in India and that is when fortunately our paths crossed. The jewelry project supports us through the sales of the jewelry made by our ladies in stores, online, art craft fairs and through her Peruvian connection globally.
